Just Who, Or What, Is CSA Prepstar Canada And Why Should You Listen To What They Have To Say?

CSA Prepstar

Alright, just who is CSAPrepstar Canada and why should you and your parents even consider listening to what they have to say?

Phil Beckett - Regional Scouting Director - CSA Prepstar Canada

Phil Beckett was the one who brought CSA Prepstar to Canada quite a number of years ago. Phil was a long time athletic trainer who had first come across the 'Recruiting Business' in the mid 1990's after hearing about it from some athletes he was training. It was after researching how the process worked that he realized that this was something that was really needed for Canadian high school athletes.

Phil is an NCCP football coach and is currently an assistant coach with the Lord Beaverbrook Junior football team in Calgary.

Phil is also the Owner and President of 'Maximum Sports Advantage Inc.', a company that imports and distributes high-tech sports training equipment across Canada.

Marvin Pope - Regional Scout, Alberta

  • Hard-hitting Marvin "Big Daddy" Pope began his CFL career as a middle linebacker, but flourished when he moved over to defensive end.

  • He also played 4 other positions, WK Side LB (weak side linebacker), WK End (weak defensive end), ST End (strong defensive end), and DT (defensive tackle).

  • Marvin set a CFL record for most tackles in a playoff game, 13 in the West Division final against Edmonton.

Dave's a five-time judo champion in Manitoba and has taught the sport. Nicknamed "Double D".

Jeff Duva - Founder Of CSA Prepstar

Jeff Duva, the founder of CSA Prepstar, pioneered the student athlete recruiting business 27 years ago after realizing that there were literally tens-of-thousands of deserving student-athletes who were completely over-looked each and every year – in all college sports!

Jeff himself was over-looked in the college recruiting process and had a very difficult time getting into college to play football even though academically and athletically he was more than qualified. Once he did get in, it became evident that he had been unfairly overlooked in the recruiting process. Jeff quickly become a ‘Super-Star’ quarterback in Division I football.

When Jeff was the football coach at Cal-State Fullerton he made a habit of keeping track of the high school football scene in Southern California realizing through his own experience that there may be many high school athletes being over-looked for college sports.

He left coaching and his student-athlete recruiting business began. In founding CSA Prepstar, Jeff’s philosophy was to make sure that no deserving student-athlete was over-looked by the NCAA & NAIA college systems.

Sean Bauer - Regional Scout, Alberta

Scouts - Dozens of scouts located throughout the country. Too many to list here.
